Althea Korea A’Bloom Collection Review

Althea Korea A'Bloom Collection First Look and Product Review

A few weeks ago, I received the A’Bloom Collection from Althea Korea. I always look forward to Althea’s new releases because they always always come up with something amazing! My personal make up kit is chock-full of Althea-brand products because they just work so well for me – so you bet I was pretty excited when I saw that they had a new collection – with make up beauty tools too!

MERINGUE PUFFS

——————-

I love make up sponges. Ever since Beauty Blender first came out with their blending sponge, I’ve been hooked! The Beauty Blenders are quite pricey though so I am always on the lookout for cheaper alternatives. When I saw that Althea was coming out with their own version of the blending sponges, I got very excited. Out of the entire A’Bloom Collection, these were the ones I was most excited about! Both the Giant and the Baby Puffs expand when wet, but not too much. I would say it expands about 25% to 35% more than it’s size when dry.

GIANT MERINGUE PUFF

First things first, I love the size. I really like the idea of being able to cover a big area with minimal effort (LOL). I also liked the shape with the bottom being flat, with the curvy sides and pointy tip. The flat surface allows you to blend products easily, the curved sides are great to use for corners and the pointy tip is perfect for blending concealer, or for cleaning up eyeshadows, eyeliners, etc.

I do find that although the size is perfect, the Giant Meringue Puff is a little on the dense side. I personally prefer something softer, so this is just okay for me. I love the size and the shape, I just wish it was a little bit softer.

BABY MERINGUE PUFF

——————-

——————-

I’ve tried mini blenders before and I never really got on with it so between these and the Giant puff, I was honestly more excited for the Giant one, but these Baby Meringue Puffs were a pleasant surprise!

These are much much softer than the Giant puff, so it is easier to mold to areas where you need precise blending or application. The material they used for this is perfect for blending out cream products – my concealer blended REALLY well without taking much of the pigment like most blenders do. I got that beautiful airbrush finish and for that, the Baby Puffs are now part of my everyday must have make up tools! Definitely pick this up if you are looking for a small blending sponge. This is the only one I’ve enjoyed using out of all the mini ones I tried. Oh and by the way, this works AMAZINGLY WELL with the Althea Concealers!

NATURAL BHA BLACKHEAD BLASTER

——————-

——————-

The BHA Blackhead Blaster is an interesting product. I’ve never used a blackhead remover in stick form before so I was very curious about this one. I do not get a lot of blackheads, but I do get a lot of whiteheads especially around my nose. I tried this the day before my scheduled weekly mask/exfoliation and I didn’t really expect much but wow, it made my nose and cheek area really smooth and soft! My nose, which is where I often get whiteheads, was super clear after washing this off. It did sting a little bit when I put it on, but it’s not too bad. I applied this on to damp skin, let it stay for a minute then washed it off. I believe you can also use this for elbows and knees if you wanted to. Definitely worth checking out if you get blackheads or whiteheads often as I think it would be a great addition to your skincare routine!

FACE MASK SHEETS

——————-

——————-

I love me a good face mask. I often do a sheet mask once a week after my once-a-week detox Clay Mask so these were a welcome addition to my collection. Before anything else, check out the packaging! I love the quirky and witty product names!

I enjoyed using these, but my favorite would have to be the Water-Me-Long Moisturizing Watermelon Mask Sheet. I often go for moistuiruzing face products because my skin often feels dry after being out in the sun too long, or after getting sick or when I don’t drink enough water. I also like that they didn’t scrimp on the essence so you can use the extra essence on your neck, chest, shoulder and hands too! The face mask itself is a little big though, but not really a big deal. I already ordered the 10-pack of the Water-Me-Long mask so I can add it to my weekly skin pamper/cleanse/detox routine!

I really enjoyed playing with the A’Bloom Collection from Althea Korea! The baby meringue puffs have already made it’s way into my everyday kit, and I already purchased a new set to use for my professional make up artist kit. The BHA Blackhead Blaster has been added to my weekly skincare routine, and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my 10-pack Water-Me-Long face masks! Watch my IGStories, I will be featuring these so you can see them in action!

Another awesome collection, Althea Korea, and I cannot wait for what more you have in store for us!
