Ahhhh, it has been a while since I posted a blog. Life has been a little busy and I’ve taken up a new “hobby”, so there hasn’t been a lot of time for me to sit down and write. 😛 Anyway, let me catch you up on what has been going on in my life.
New Puppy – Welcome home, ZOE!
My mom was gifted a Beagle puppy last June and it has taken up a lot of my time and attention trying to train her, take care of her and watch over her. I love her so much – she is quite a character! She loves to play and has so much energy – a far cry from my Chabooty – so it has taken a little bit of adjustment for me and Zoe to coexist happily lol! Initially, I was very worried that Chabooty wouldn’t take to her but I am happy to report that he and Zoe get along quite well! It’s interesting to see him be a big brother/mentor to Zoe, and even more interesting to see how Zoe has influenced him as well. He used to be so chill – just relaxing and sitting most of the time but now, he has become more active and even initiates play time with Zoe. He has also lost weight, which is amazing!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook and watch my Stories, you’d know that we have had a couple of Medical emergencies/issues but thank goodness she is a fighter! This means she requires more attention and more care, but that is okay because she is so so sweet and I love her very much! Hopefully after these, we can take a step back from having to go to the Vet for emergencies!
New Room – Redecorating on a budget!
I used to share a room with my younger sister, so the decor has always been a compromise. The room was nice, but it was never really a “me” room, so when she moved out, I started thinking how I want to redecorate the room. When we left our childhood home, I had to let go of my Queen-sized bed (my older sister took it) and opt for the 2 single beds because my little sister and I had to share a room – but I knew that eventually, I would like to have a queen-sized bed again. A few months ago, my sister bought a new bed so I had the opportunity to take my old queen sized bed back so yay!
I was thinking of repainting the room, but the paint still looks okay and I honestly didn’t want to deal with having to cover everything and put tape on the walls and all the work that goes into repainting a room so I kept the paint color and just added some “Nina Touches”. I put my Mandala Dream Catcher tapestry near my headboard, added lights, got rid of old toys and old books (this was hard because I can get so sentimental with things) and now my room aptly reflects me. If you notice in the photo, I kept one side of the room bare and one side of the room has all the colorful aspects (spot my Monkey stuffed toy collection haha). That’s because when I need to concentrate and think, I look at the blank wall. If I need inspiration, I look at the colorful wall. I don’t know why I do that, it just works better for me so that is how it is going to be for now. I also just recently wallpapered my cabinets using sticker wallpaper that I got from Japan Home and it looks really nice! I chose a dark wood design to match the dark wood floors and I love it! All in all, this redecorating cost me 3 full days of cleaning/organizing and Php360pesos for the sticker wallpaper! Everything else, I already had.
New Skincare – Yay to younger looking skin!
My skincare routine used to just be Cleanse and Mostuirze – but now that I am getting older, I recognize that I need to put extra effort into taking care of my skin.
In the morning, I still keep it pretty simple with my cleanse-tone-sunscreen-lipbalm combo. Realistically speaking, I don’t have a lot of time in the morning to faff around with skincare so I just keep it as minimal as possible. I used to hate using toners because most of the toners I’ve used in the past just strip and dry out my skin but I have found a toner that I absolutely enjoy using – the Althea Bare Essentials Primer Water. This doesn’t dry out the skin at all and leaves it moisturized and healthy. I then follow it up with he Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway Sunscreen – also a new addition to my routine because I was not a sunblock believer before (haha oh to be young and careless) and finish it off with the Glossier Balm Dot Com (in Coconut, my fave!)
At night, that is when my skincare gets a little bit more attention. I obviously start with cleansing my face and then I follow it up with a toner. The toner that I use at night is the Hayejin Blessing of Sporut Toner that smells soooo good and fresh and again, leaves my skin feeling clean but healthy. I then follow it up with a serum – the one that I am currently Ising is the It’s Skin LF Effector. After that, I put eye cream – right now the one I am using is the Milky Dress Wrinkle and Whitening Eye Cream. Then I put on a thick moisturizer in the form of the Onsameein Lumiere Gold Daily Cream – I love this especially when I am sick, it really rehydrates my dry and dull skin! I then put on a lip mask or ointment, depending on the need. If I have cuts and bruises on my lips, I go for the Lucas Pawpaw Ointment which does wonders! If not, I use the Lip Sleeping Mask from Pretti. I finish it all off with the Gold &EGF Eye and Spot Patch that I leave overnight. Yes, I leave it overnight and I wake up with lighter undereye circles – which if you are a regular reader or you follow me on social media (hint hint, you should), you’d know that I have really dark undereye circles. They are the bane of my existence – charot! :))
New “Hobby” – Vlogging!
If you didn’t know, I have started Vlogging! Yes, you read it right – vlogging! I used to be so scared and so hyper critical of myself when I speak to the camera but I am slowly getting over that and I am really enjoying it now. I used to treat my Youtube channel just as a supplement for my travel blog posts – I would add a video tour of the resort/room/venue because I know how photos can sometimes be deceiving, but with videos, it is more true-to life, I think – but I have started dipping my toes into sharing more about my life on there as well. There will be quite a bit of posts in the coming weeks because I still have travel footage from a couple of months ago, and I’ll share about the events that I go to on there as well. Hopefully, you’ll subscribe to my channel and enjoy my content! If you have any suggestions on what videos I should post, let me know! 🙂
I think I’ve fully caught you up on my recent shenanigans. Hope you could support my Youtube Channel and follow me on my social media – I would love to interact with you! <3
