Every year, on my birth month (December), I always go on a bit of a shopping spree on Sephora. I was originally planning on getting the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, which has been on my wish list for the longest time, but it was out of stock so I looked through my make up stash to see what I needed to rebuild and enhance my kit. Ha – that’s a pretty responsible thing for me to do as I normally would just be taken in by packaging, colors, marketing, etc and in the past would have done an impulse spree. *gives self a pat on the back*
One of the things I needed in my collection was a warm matte eyeshadow palette. I have the Tarte Tarteltte which is a cool toned matte eyeshadow palette, but I did not have a lot of matte warm eyeshadows. I first saw the Zoeva Matte Eyeshadow Palette from Anna of The Anna Edit, and knew that I had to pick it up because not only do I like Zoeva eyeshadows – very bendable and highly pigmented, I love that they are priced fairly as well. The Matte Eyeshadow Palette, which comes with 10 beautiful warm matte eyeshadows is priced at Php1,650.00.
Another thing that I needed was a new contour cream product. I was running out of the one I was using (a NYX cream foundation stick), and I remember seeing Fenty Beauty’s Match Stix in the shade Amber, so I picked that up as well. I figured that since I needed a new contour cream product and I wanted to try Fenty’s Match Stix, then I would kill two birds with one stone by picking up the shade Amber. This was priced at Php1,450.00, which I think is a little steep given the amount of product you get – but we shall see if it is worth it!
I also used a coupon code (IMNAUGHTYPH) and got three really cool samples: I got a deluxe sample size Becca First Light Priming Filter (I love this, I have it in full-size too lol), a deluxe sample size Benefit They’re Real Mascara (I always try to get mascaras as my free gift-with-purchase on Sephora haha) and a sample size Anastasia Brow Wiz (which is great but so teeny tiny). Oh and I also got a sample size Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in the shade Crush, plus a lot of packet samples. This is one of the reasons why I love shopping on Sephora – you always get amazing samples and freebies!
Then, just when I thought I was done with my birth-month Sephora shopping indulgence, a few days later, I saw that the Benefit Magical Brow Stars kit was on sale for Php2,737.00. I’ve always wanted to try the Benefit brow products – I had a sample size Goof Proof Brow Pencil and I liked it a lot – but could never justify the cost of Php1660 for one eyebrow pencil so when I saw that the kit was on sale – 5 full size products plus one brow tool for the price of less than 2 products – I knew I had to get it! I mean, the items cost Php1,660 individually on Sephora so for P2,737.00, I got products that would have cost me Php9,960.00 (including the brow tool)! The kit was definitely a steal! I am so excited to try the Precisely, My Brow Eyebrow Pencil and the Ka-Brow Eyebrow Cream Gel. I picked up the Shade #3 set, which is perfect for my dark hair, and it would still work when I lighten my hair for the summer.
Of course, I checked if there was a coupon code I could use to make the most out of my purchase and there was! I could no longer use the IMNAUGHTYPH code because I already used it when I got the Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette and the Fenty Beauty Match Stix, so good thing there was an alternative “IMNICEPH”. With that, I was able to get a deluxe size Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color in Rose (I’ve always wanted to try Nudestix and now I can), a mini Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Noir (same with Pixi, I haven’t tried anything from their brand and I am excited to try this) and a Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm (for long, bouncy, beautiful hair). I also got a teeny tiny Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red – so adorable!
So that is it for my Sephora shopping spree. Mind you, I have had these since December but haven’t had the chance to play with them LOL! They have just been sitting in the box, waiting for their moment to shine hahaha! There are so many nice things on Sephora – I love looking at Hourglass, Becca, Zoeva, Marc Jacobs, Pat McGrath and Viseart. They also have Drunk Elephant, Kate Sommerville and Sunday Riley. Now if only I had a shitload of money to spend… LOL!
